Jason Smithson joined the Ottawa Historical Fencing Society in 2015 and took to the study of Historical Martial Arts very quickly. His enthusiasm and skill led Jeff and Dave to bring him on to assist with instruction, and eventually the organization of events. Today, Jay runs most of OHFS’s day-to-day operations, including speaking at and organizing events, coordinating with other groups, and continuing to assist with instruction. His primary focus in fencing is the medieval sword and buckler system interpreted from the I.33 Tower Manuscript, and he is developing a curriculum on it for OHFS.
